Connect FM Toy Appeal

Connect FM broadcasts to Northamptonshire, Peterborough and the Home Countries. Concluding on Friday 14th December, each year the station hosts a Toy Appeal, hoping to help disadvantaged children within their area by providing a donated toy to a child who might not get the Christmas they deserve. The station asked residents to add one more gift onto their Christmas list this year and to donate it to multiple toy drop-offs – making one huge difference to a deserving child’s Christmas Day.

This year we were delighted to get involved with this incredible appeal by offering a space in the showroom to this wonderful toy collection. We were named a dedicated drop-off point for donators to offer their gifts in Wellingborough. We have been collecting toys in one of the showroom bathtubs (rub-a-dub-dub), receiving a grand total of over 500 new toys for disadvantaged children this Christmas. The bathtub overflowed with toys on a number of occasions! Our staff at Goodey and Howell and our sister company Plumbco have been watching the bathtub fill and it has provided us all with a great deal of joy having people bring in their wonderful gifts and donating them ourselves.

A huge thank you and special mention goes out to the generous donators; Nick O’Leary, Karen Coates, Aide Galibardi, Tim and Mrs Maguire, Rachel Hewitt, Margaret Baldry, Miki Hall and Arlie, Grant Tuthill, Aimee Linnell, Wendy Pipe, Sophie and Trudi as well as Alan and Nicky Beetson, EP Lynch Services & Installations and Sean Gill from Glazerite Windows, who bought in 3 boxes full of toys. Thank you everyone!

The donated toys will be distributed across Connect FM’s amazing charities, including Alfe’s Cause, Little Miracles  and Children are Butterflies. A full list of charities and the amazing work they do can be found here.

Goodey and Howell, Plumbco and all of our lovely staff, cannot thank each donator enough for their continued support and overwhelmingly generous donations – you have changed a child’s Christmas this year.
